Now that you know what Skippy the Talking Gun is it is time to find the smart weapon. In this article, I will present to you a step-by-step guide to Skippy the talking gun location.
Step-by-Step Guide for Skippy the Talking Gun
First up is where you can find Skippy in Cyberpunk 2077. You can find him on a random corpse down an alleyway in the Vista Del Rey suburb of Night City, found on the east side of Heywood. It is marked on the map as an undiscovered location, south of the College St fast travel point.
To find Skippy, fast travel to the College St. metro station in Heywood. From there, travel south towards a question mark on the map indicating an optional side mission. The location is marked below for reference.
When you approach the destination you’ll find a stack of cardboard bales. Climb onto them and over the gate. On your left, you’ll find a dead body and an open briefcase containing Skippy.
When you pick up Skippy you will have a short conversation with the gun. Whatever you do, don’t try and change his name. Skippy will end the conversation by asking if you want its auto-targeting features to be lethal (Bloodthirsty Killer Mode) or non-lethal (Peaceloving Mode). You can choose whichever suits your playstyle.
It is also important to note that after 50 kills with Skippy, it will switch to whichever mode you did not choose and stay that way permanently. So, it is best to choose the non-lethal method if you plan to utilize Skippy long-term.
Spending More Time with Skippy
Once Skippy has changed modes and you’ve spent more time with the talking gun, it will ask you to return it to its original owner. You can choose to disobey Skippy, and it will badger you with insults indefinitely, or you can proceed with the mission “The Machine Gun.”
The mission requires that you return to Skippy’s original owner, Regina Jones. She will factory reset Skippy, rename it Daisy, and give you the option to keep the gun or turn it in for $7,000 Eurodollars.
The decision is up to you, but it is worth noting that the factory reset does not reset your original choice of Lethal or Non-Lethal mode for Skippy. Since Skippy cannot be sold, dismantled, or stored anywhere, this is the only way to effectively remove Skippy from your inventory after acquiring it.
Skippy is a talkative gun. This quality of his depends on the user whether you find it amusing or annoying. Nonetheless, give Skippy the Talking Gun a try if you want something different in your shenanigans in Night City. You can always return him to Regina Jones when you finally find the gun annoying.
