VCT Pacific kicks off on March 25 in a best-of-three single-round-robin elimination format called League Play. It also includes ten competing teams over eight weeks, wherein only six teams will remain after League Play eliminations.
What is VCT Pacific?
It is one of the three international leagues after the introduction of the new VCT structure. It will also provide a new method for teams to qualify for premier-level global tournaments. These tournaments also include VCT Masters and VCT Champions.
The VCT Pacific includes the top ten teams from Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, and South Asia. They will also compete against each other in a ten-week competition to determine the representatives of the Pacific region.
VALORANT Esports will host the tournament at the Sangam Colosseum in Seoul, South Korea. However, the grand finals will be in Jangchung Stadium. Even more, the tournament has a total prize pool of USD 250,000.
Tournament Format
As we said earlier, the tournament includes ten teams from VCT Pacific. Each team will compete in League Play, a best-of-three single-round-robin elimination. The competition will also happen over eight weeks, wherein only six teams will move forward.
These six teams qualify and move onward to the Playoffs. The six teams will also compete in double elimination rounds with a best-of-three format. However, the semi-finals and grand finals will have a best-of-five format.
The top three teams from VCT Pacific will qualify for VCT Masters in June. There, they will also meet the best teams from the Americas and EMEA. Undoubtedly, the top three teams also qualify for VCT Champions in August.
The best teams worldwide will compete for the title of VALORANT World Champion. However, other Pacific teams have to fight for a slot at VCT Champions through the Last Chance Qualifiers in July.
