This allowed Valorant to soar to the heights of viewership on Huya, one of the biggest streaming platforms in China. There’s no telling how high it will go, but everyone likes these numbers.

Valorant Launch In China A Success
It took a while for Riot Games to include Chjna as one of its regions for the first-person competitive shooter. There were tons of licensing issues, but the game finally made its way to the market last July 12. Since then, Niko’s China Games Streaming Tracker document the quick rise of Valorant in the region.
The tool documented over 700 Valorant games and over 140,000+ channels across the top streaming platforms. These gaming platforms in China include DouYu, Bilibili, and Huya. As far as we’re concerned, the Valorant launch in China is a definite success. After all, it became the second-highest-viewed game a week after its release.
Yet, it is also worth noting that we can associate this success with the Valorant Champions 2023 tournament. The Chinese teams, EdwardGaming and Bilibili Gaming are two of the three teams that qualified. So, we can continue to expect more and more viewership numbers and gameplay hours from the region.
