Valorant Agent 23 will arrive in Episode 7, and it’s a bit more exciting than you think. Riot Games teased two new upcoming agents, one for Episode 7 and one for later this year. They mentioned it during their recent Dev Diaries that came out on June 5 titled “What’s Next in 2023.”
The new Valorant agent will be a new Sentinel joining the roster. They also teased that the second agent would be a new duelist. These two new additions to the Valorant roster will be a game changer, especially after VCT Masters Tokyo 2023.
Inside the Dev Diaries video, the developers also mentioned a new Team Deathmatch mode. They also talked about a few big changes to the progression system in Valorant. Yet, the most exciting part was the image of Valorant Agent 23 (see featured image).
What to Expect for Valorant Agent 23?
Although the devs did not mention the official release date for Valorant Agent 23, we have a pretty good guess. There is a pretty evident pattern for when Riot Games decides to release a new Valorant agent.
Some good examples include Gekko’s reveal during the VCT LOCK//IN Brazil and Fade during VCT Masters Reykjavik 2022. We can pretty much expect that this new Sentinel will release on or after VCT Masters Tokyo 2023.
Anna Donlon, Executive Producer and Dev Team Lead, revealed some teaser information about Valorant Agent 23. She said the new agent will:
“Stop you dead in your tracks and pull you in for a closer look.”
Which could mean a number of things, but we know that they’re a duelist. Valorant Agent 23 might have a hook function similar to Overwatch’s Roadhog or Lifeweaver. After all, one of Riot Game’s popular characters is Thresh from League of Legends.
Lore and Abilities
We can also suspect that Valorant Agent 23 will be from Norway. After all, almost all of the recent lore points toward a Norwegian agent. However, we believe that someone from Twitter can explain this much better than we can.
You can spot in the teaser image that the agent is wearing gloves while standing behind a workbench. The bench also has various tools which include a screwdriver and some lenses. Even more, you can find a tablet and some documents on the bench alongside some spools of thread.
However, what caught the Twitter user’s attention was the waffles. He calls them stroopwafels from the Netherlands. Yet, it is a heart-shaped waffle which he also calls quite Scandinavian. It has led to a deduction that the new Valorant agent will be from either The Netherlands or Norway.
