To obtain the Skull Key, miners must descend deep into the Mines. You must go down the Mines until you reach the end, which is Floor 120. This achievement marks the culmination of perseverance and patience in completing the mines.

At the end of the Mines, you will see a treasure chest and it will reward you with the Skull Key. The Skull Key is an essential item for unlocking new features in the game. The journey through the Mines to acquire this key isn’t a simple task, requiring diligent planning and preparation.

You do not have to finish the Mines in one journey because that is nearly impossible. Thankfully, the elevator shaft saves your progress in the mines every five floors. Just chip in the time and you will reach the end of the mines in due time.

Unlocking the Skull Cavern with the Skull Key Stardew Valley

Once you have the Skull Key, you will gain access to the elusive Skull Cavern situated in the Desert area. This cavern mirrors the Mines’ essence but offers intensified challenges and rewards. The Skull Key serves as the gateway to the more intense combat and adventuring.

If you have not yet unlocked the Calico Desert, you can do so by completing the Vault Bundle in the Community Center. Alternatively, you can unlock the desert by purchasing it in the Joja Corp route for 40,000G. Once you unlock the Desert, simply go to the bus stop and talk to Pam to reach the Calico Desert.
