Pokémon Esports Players Call for Priority Access to Pokémon Center at Worlds

Last Updated on April 10, 2025

With the Pokémon World Championships set for August 2025, players are raising concerns about limited access to the Pokémon Center store, which sells exclusive Worlds-themed merchandise.

Due to high demand, attendees must reserve a time slot to enter the store. However, competitors spend most of their time competing, leaving them with little chance to sign up before slots fill up. This has sparked debates within the esports community, with players arguing that competitors should have priority over content creators.

Pro player King Dre voiced frustration, noting that competitors often miss out on the Pokémon Center experience despite investing time and money to qualify. Others pointed out that content creators help promote the event, making access a tricky issue.

With Worlds attendance growing, players hope for a fairer system that allows both competitors and content creators to enjoy the Pokémon Center without missing out.
