Niantic will always try to find ways to help trainers worldwide, like the Campfire App for Pokemon GO. It also goes alongside a new feature called Team Up in Pokemon GO. Although the rollout process was slow, it also allowed users to increasingly gain access. Now, the developers revealed that Campfire is now available to trainers worldwide.
Yet, it’s also not new to most trainers who keep track of updates. After all, Niantic did announce the Campfire App in 2022 for Pokemon GO. It was also meant to help players communicate and meet up in real life to enjoy Pokemon GO. Yesterday, June 27, 2023, Niantic made the app available to all players to also try out the new feature.
What is the Campfire App in Pokemon GO
The Campfire App allows trainers to locate and agree to meet with other trainers online. You can also download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once you downloaded Campfire, you can go to the green envelope icon in Pokemon GO. You can find it at the top right corner of your in-game screen.
With the Campfire App in Pokemon GO, you can now see active Raid Battles and activities around you. This app also works alongside the new feature, Team Up. The feature helps trainers challenge Raid Battles with other players in the area.
Trainers can also join existing raid groups through the Campfire App in Pokemon GO. Yet, they can also host their groups for other users to find and join. One of the features allows these trainers to opt-in for text communication, allowing easy communication. It’s also one of the reasons why they encourage players to turn on push notifications. After all, you can’t respond to messages that you don’t know were there.
The Team Up feature is one of the best updates in the game, despite having a limited testing phase in March 2023. Yet, The Pokemon GO team would like to remind everyone to stay aware of their surroundings. Although it’s an enjoyable feature, you should still follow local health protocols and guidelines.
