New Regional Variants for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Says Leaker

Last Updated on July 17, 2023

We have another leak about new Regional Variants from our dear friend, Riddler Khu. However, they seem to be Regional Fakes of Aipom and Gligar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These fakes will come up in the new Scarlet and Violet DLC. Yet, we should take this leak with a grain of salt. Although it does come from the reliable Khu, there are still no statements made by The Pokemon Company.

Why are the New Regional Variants Regional Fakes?

Before we explain why they could be fakes, we need to explain the term. Regional Fakes are new Pokemon that look exactly like old Pokemon. One example is how Toedscool looks like Tentacool. The community, alongside Khu, created the term “Regional Fakes” for this Pokemon.

Now, with the new Regional Variants, Khu believes that one Pokemon might have a fake. He thinks that a purple Pokemon might turn green in the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. However, it doesn’t help much because there are plenty of purple Pokemon in the franchise. Yet, Scarlet and Violet emphasize two purple Pokemon in their marketing for the DLC.

These Pokemon are Aipom and Gligar, which are version exclusives in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. So, we might be seeing green Regional Fakes of the two classic Pokemon from the anime series. Yet, it also doesn’t mean we won’t see the originals. After all, you can still catch a Diglett albeit the presence of Wiglett in Scarlet and Violet.

As we get more information about the new Regional Variants, you can check out the Sleeping Snorlax ASMR. It’s a marketing stunt for both the Pokemon Sleep app and the Pokemon GO Plus+ device. Stay tuned to the website for more interesting Pokemon news.
