Who is the Best Genshin DPS Character?

Who is the Best Genshin DPS Character?

Genshin Impact has so many characters who fit into Teyvat’s rich lore. Whether they’re 5-star or 4-star, a Genshin DPS character or support, they have their own stories in-game, and it’s honestly great to see how they interact with each other. It’s also great to see characters from different regions gather together in time-limited events, delivering even more color to the game.

Now, who is the best DPS character in-game? Since there are so many to choose from, it’s normally near impossible to answer this question. But I’ll just be completely biased and say it’s Xiao.

The Best Genshin DPS Character Xiao, the Vigilant Yaksha

Best Genshin DPS Character Xiao

Xiao, known as the Vigilant Yaksha and Adeptus Alatus, is one of the most popular and powerful Anemo characters in Genshin Impact. He is an excellent choice for the DPS role. Xiao has high base stats, impressive AoE, and a consistent damage output capability. He can even rival Hu Tao’s impressive burst damage, if not outperform it.

What sets Xiao apart is his ability to deliver incredible damage without relying on Elemental Reactions. Instead, he wields the power of Anemo to deal devastating blows to his enemies, making him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

As a polearm user, Xiao has an aggressive playstyle with super fast attack patterns, making it seem like he’s just barreling his way through crowds of enemies. His Physical Damage is decent enough, but if you’ve built him correctly, you won’t even need to use his Normal and Charged Attacks while not in his Burst, “Bane of All Evil.” All you have to do is spam his plunge attacks until the enemies turn to dust.

If you also managed to be very lucky when upgrading his artifact set, you might not even need to use his Burst outside of boss fights. All you need is his Elemental Skill, “Lemniscatic Wind Cycling,” and he can take down mobs without breaking a sweat.

His whole kit is designed to make him as deadly as possible, and his constellations even add to his ability to showcase Anemo supremacy. With C1, “Dissolution Eon: Destroyer of Worlds,” Xiao gains a third charge of his Skill. At C6, he gains one charge of his Skill when hitting two opponents while under the effects of his Burst. This basically makes it easier to spam his attacks.

Anemo Supremacy

Anemo is usually tricky to use in battle since it relies heavily on other elements to be able to Swirl. However, Xiao can properly integrate it into his kit since he’s going to be the main DPS.

Unlike other characters, you’d have to build a team around Xiao. His team members can be someone from the National Team—Xingqui, Xiangling, Bennett, and Chongyun. He’d also benefit from having a healer like Diona, Barbara, Jean, Kokomi, and Yaoyao. This is because his Burst constantly drains his HP.

He also displays the power of Anemo thanks to his Burst. He constantly uses pure Anemo, whether he does Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and especially Plunge Attacks. Burst supports are very much appreciated, like those of Xingqui, Yelan, and Xiangling, to name a few. It enables him to deal extra Elemental Damage, pushing his damage output capabilities even further.

The Best Genshin DPS Character: Final Thoughts

With all that’s been said, Xiao is (in my totally biased opinion) the best DPS in the game. His playstyle is easy for anyone to adapt; you’ll just have to button smash when he pops his Burst. He is also fairly easy to build, especially with the release of Vermillion Hereafter, which further boosts the damage of his Burst Ability.

If you’re into a more straightforward DPS character that is meant to shred his enemies, then there is no better Genshin DPS character than Xiao. Who do you think is the best DPS in Mihoyo’s Genshin Impact? Share with us the details in the comments section.
