In the second map, PRX defends first while C9 attacks. It also seems to be upsetting as the favorites from the Pacific region underperform. PRX tries to start out strong, but C9 quickly answers.

PRX also try out new ideas to give their opponents new puzzles to solve. However, C9 remains unfazed as they respond in full, leaving PRX in the dust. C9’s quick aggression coupled with their lurk leaves PRX confused. The bleeding continues as C9 win the first half 2-10 in their favor.

In the second half, C9 remains merciless. They also prevent every attempt by PRX to enter the site. Even more, PRX managed to grab a point but C9 responded more stronger. The series ends with C9 taking down PRX 2-0 with a scoreline of 3-13.

C9 eliminates PRX and proceeds to Round 2 in the Alpha Bracket.

At the most awaited match, both teams decided to pick Chamber in Lotus. PRX starts as attackers while C9 defends. Immediately into the first half, C9 and PRX take brawl after brawl. Both teams also take fights to force their way to obtain the space.

These brawls also lead straight into a scoreline of 3-4 in favor of C9. It’s also an amazing display of veteran and experienced teams who aren’t afraid to take the fight. However, these brawls contribute to C9 taking the first half with 5-7.

In the second half, it’s the same story with both teams unafraid to fight. It is an absolute showdown on who has the better aim. However, at 7-9 in favor of C9, PRX takes a timeout to regroup and attempt to stop C9’s momentum.

C9 remains unfazed in their relentless brawls, which leads to their victory in Map 1 with 8-13.

In the final map of the series, BBL starts as defenders and DRX as attackers. However, it is brutal after DRX wins the pistol round. They also keep up with the momentum all the way until 0-7 where BBL takes a timeout.

Even more, in an amazing display of leadership by BBL SouhcNi, BBL decides to take risky play. However, DRX remains unfazed and continues to decimate BBL ending the first half 11-1.

After a quick break, DRX continues to tighten the chokehold as they reach the series point. One more, and BBL goes home. However, SouhcNi once again shows he has what it takes to be an IGL. They also manage to bring the scoreline to 7-12.

However, with the continuous pressure from DRX Rb and DRX Buzz, they lose 7-13. DRX sends BBL home, and they proceed to Round 2.

They also continue to stop DRX’s momentum, leading to a 9-7 scoreline in favor of DRX. Even more, they pull out the Odin to slow down DRX’s aggression leading to a 10-10 tie. In the end, BBL controlled the game by quickly adapting to DRX.

In the next match of Day 2, DRX starts as attackers and BBL as defenders in Map 1. Also, another controversial move of the day, BBL pick Yoru on Pearl. The pistol round also goes to DRX immediately as DRX Rb gets a 3K clutch.

However, the players to keep your eyes on are DRX Mako and BBL Qutionerx. Also, a tech pause happens from BBL to check their hardware. Even more, BBL displays impressive map awareness, but cannot contest DRX’s aggressive play style. It also leads to a scoreline of 0-5 before BBL calls for a timeout.

After the timeout, BBL gains a little momentum as Qutionerx makes impressive Yoru plays. It also throws off DRX as they encounter their unique play style. However, DRX plays well, knowing when to balance their aggressive and passive gameplay. It leads to a 9-3 scoreline in favor of DRX in the first half.

Even more, in the second half, DRX adapts and anticipates immediately to the Yoru teleports. However, it might get them some kills on the board but DRX is world-class. The first Map of the series also ends in a 13-3 scoreline in favor of DRX.

Karmine Corp v.s. FunPlus Phoenix Alpha Group Round 1 – Map 3 Pearl

In the decider match in Pearl, KC is attacking first while FPX defends. However, in a controversial move, KC decides to pick Harbor in Pearl. This is also the Map deciding who will go home in the single elimination.

FPX starts strong by taking the pistol round while KC maintains its brawling play style. However, things start to look shaky as KC patiently baits the rotations from FPX. The highlights include KC ScreaM’s disrupting lurks, KC Shin’s aggressive plays, and KC Nivera’s Operator.

However, don’t count FPX Yuicaw and FPX TZH as they completely dominate the aim game. But, the scoreline ends with 5-7 in favor of KC in the first half.

In the second half, it was a slow process but FPX manage to get points in. However, KC utilized the Harbor pick well for their plants and defuses. They also manage to reciprocate the aim game with ScreaM proving he is the headshot machine.

In the end, the scoreline is 13-6 and FunPlus Phoenix goes home.

However, KC forces FPX to pump the breaks as they take a timeout at 2-4. After that, KC responds in force by taking it slow. They also manage to do simple trades, but FPX is relentless in their defense. However, KC does manage to bring it to a tie at 6-6 in the first half.

In the second half, KC cannot find hope as FPX takes the score further and further away. Impressive individual performance by KC ScreaM and FPX Yuicaw. However, ScreaM alone cannot go against FPX’s precise and methodical team play. FPX takes Map 2 with a 13-8 scoreline.

We also experience more scrappy brawls in the second half. KC and FPX do not back down from either challenge, but KC always wins. KC’s clever utilization of ultimate abilities and management of the economy win them Map 1. The scoreline is 13-6.

In a controversial move, DetonatioN FM decided to play Icebox without using Sage. Even more, they benched Seoldam for DFM takej to try and change the pace. DFM started as defenders while Giants played as attackers.

DFM faced a nightmare playing against a team that countered their play style. Giants played patiently and waited for the early aggression from DFM. However, DFM did win four rounds by punishing Giants for their patience. The scoreline from the first half ended 8-4 in favor of Giants.

However, Giants’ play style completely set the tempo for the match. DFM tried to take the initial contact but lost to the well-coordinated Giants. Although DFM made outstanding plays in the second half, they could not disrupt Giants’ rhythm.

The match ended 13-7 in favor of Giants. They also eliminated DFM from the tournament and move forward to Round 2.

All eyes were also on DFM Seoldam on the Japanese Team. However, in his debut on VCT, Giants Cloud performed perfectly on both attacking and defending halves.

In round one, DFM tried to take mid-control immediately. But, Giants responded instantly by stopping them in their tracks. DFM also tried to play slowly, but their opponents did not take the bait for rotations. Due to an amazing crossfire, Giants bring the score to 4-1.

However, DFM steps up their game by being patient and waiting for information. They manage to bring the scoreline to 5-4, but still in favor of Giants. Even more, Giants showed no mercy by winning nine rounds in a row to a 13-4 scoreline.

Even more, it seems like confusion happens for KOI as they keep saving the operator. KOI also ends up losing round after round because of their operator-saving strategy.

KOI takes a time out and decides to disrupt NRG’s rhythm, and they take round 10. However, NRG adjusts quickly, taking it slow and baiting the rotations from KOI. These rotations also confused KOI starxo, leading to a 4-8 scoreline in favor of NRG.

In the second half, KOI attacks stronger to make NRG play their game. They also keep the balling rolling by abusing the spaces in NRG’s defense leading to an 8-8 scoreline. However, NRG crashies decides to pop his Sova ultimate to stop KOI in their tracks.

Once NRG stopped KOI’s momentum, they went further beyond as a team. They also had strong individual performances that finally led to 13-11 in favor of NRG. Even more, we say goodbye to KOI as NRG eliminates them from the competition.
