Valorant Premier (VP) arrives in full force as a path to professional competitive play. It will also be out for global beta testing later in 2023.
Riot Games already tested VP in an alpha version on Brazilian servers. However, they want to keep the momentum going forward as they aim to test in other regions. You can also check out the video announcement on YouTube with Andy Ho, Valorant’s Game Director.
“This new challenge will invite you to build a team and compete throughout the Act in a series of weekly matches on designated maps. If you win enough of your Premier matches, you’ll earn your way into a playoff tournament…”
Undoubtedly, Valorant Premier will be one of the most awaited updates for the game. After all, you get to climb your way to the top, getting the chance to play in the big leagues.
How Does Valorant Premier Connect to Pro Play?
The goal of the VP is to encourage players in Episode 6 Act III to compete. It’s a team-based competitive system connecting Valorant to Esports. First, you’ll have to create a team in your skill division.
After that, you need to compete in weekly matches on designated maps. Lastly, if you win enough matches, you get the chance to participate in the playoffs. You will also compete for the crown and title of being the best in your skill division.
However, if you want to go pro, there are other things to keep in mind. According to Leo Faria, Head of Valorant Esports, Valorant Premier will be the path to VCT Challengers Leagues. You won’t need to join open qualifier events because your path starts in the game.
If you are undoubtedly the best in the Challengers League, you get the chance to compete in the International Leagues. You might also get the opportunity to join VCT Champions. However, Leo says that it might take time to make this path to pro a reality.
The Valorant Premier Global Beta might start in the summer, a few months from now. Keep visiting our website as we get more updates for you. You can also follow us on social media to stay updated with the latest esports and gaming news.
