Among the presentation’s many highlights was the reveal of Blasphemous 2, along with the game’s first trailer and launch reveal of summer 2023. The showcase also dropped the news that the slapstick RPG Shadows Over Loathing. The game is chock-full of mobsters, monsters, and mysteries, and it got released on the eShop after the event.
To see this stunning amount of creativity from the indie development community is a true delight. With the latest diverse lineup of independent games shown today, players can find Nintendo Switch games to take them on journeys far from home while still at home, or anywhere else they choose to play.

Mineko’s Night Market
- Release Date: September 26, 2023
Mineko’s Night Market featured a trailer in the showcase. The life-sim showcased the activities, jobs, and playing with cats in their game. While the trailer is pretty vague, the visuals looked stunning and it is yet another indie game worth noting.
My Time at Sandrock
- Release Date: Summer 2023
My Time at Sandrock is getting a Switch port that will be released this summer. The game occurs in the same charming post-apocalyptic world as its predecessor, My Time at Portia. My Time at Sandrock delivers a more wild west vibe as you become the newest resident.
- Release Date: October 2023
Plate Up is a coop-focused rogue-lite cooking simulator that will release on the Switch this October. In the game, you will serve customers to the best of your ability ( it is not as easy as it sounds). You can also unlock permanent upgrades for future restaurants when your current venture inevitably goes under.
Quilts and Cats of Calico
- Release Date: Fall 2023
Quilts and Cats of Calico is a game about, that’s right, quilts and cats. It is a digital adaptation of the tabletop game, Calico. The game features both solo and multiplayer modes. Previously only announced for PC, Quilts, and Cats of Calico will launch for Switch this fall.
Rift of the NecroDancer
- Release Date: 2023
Rift of the NecroDancer is a rhythm game spin-off of the roguelike rhythm game Crypt of the Necrodancer. The Direct revealed that the game is coming to Switch this 2023. We also got a more detailed look at NecroDancer’s gameplay, including boss battles, burger-making, and yoga.
- Release Date: June 30, 2023
A new gameplay trailer for Crime O’Clock showcased how this black-and-white mystery game interconnects its 40 cases. Each of your actions has the possibility of affecting the others in a domino effect. The game will release on June 30 on the Nintendo Switch.
