Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis Gets a Closed Beta

Final Fantasy series fans had their mouths full with great news in the recent Summer Game Fest 2023. On top of the blockbuster new trailer for the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Square Enix also unveiled that Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis is getting a closed beta test period. FF7 Ever Crisis is yet another retelling of the classic FF7 game, this time on Android and iOS devices. Unlike the main remake series, FF7 Ever Crisis will adopt a more traditional approach. It is reportedly more aligned with the actual events of the beloved original.
When Is The Closed Beta Testing
As per Square Enix’s announcement, the closed beta for the mobile Final Fantasy game began June 9th and will run until June 28th. Effectively covering the rest of June. Furthermore, preregistration is purportedly opening up soon. So, if you are interested, better stay tuned to Square Enix’s official social media accounts.
Sad to say for iOS users, the closed beta will only supposedly be available for Android users at the moment. The Final Fantasy series creators are yet to announce when iOS gamers can have the chance to try FF7 Ever Crisis early. Or if they ever can.
The closed beta announcement came with a new trailer focusing on Sephiroth, the FF7 main villain, himself. There are scenes of him calling and facing off against Genesis. He is the main villain of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, at Gongaga.
Looking at the trailer, we can’t help but be in awe of the truly impressive visuals FF7 Ever Crisis has. Despite being a mobile game, its cutscenes and visuals are comparable to console graphics, even next-gen ones! It will certainly be exciting to learn more about this game over the coming weeks and months.
More Info About FF7 Ever Crisis
Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis intends to retell the entire FF7 timeline in the comfort of your trusty mobile phone. This includes all FF7 spinoffs (Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus), side stories, and, of course, the main FF7 story.
On top of that, Square Enix also notes that the game will feature new story elements itself. According to the press release accompanying the announcement, the new exclusive stories of FF7 Ever Crisis will focus on the origins of SOLDIER, which is definitely interesting.

The game’s official website also lists several rewards that players who will participate in the closed beta may receive. This includes several in-game rewards, with the top prize of a 5-Star Ticket set to be available once the preregistrations reach one million users.
And that is everything we know about the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy series entrant for mobile devices. Take note that apart from the closed beta announcement, FF7 Ever Crisis still does not have a concrete release date.
