WildTurtle Retires from League of Legends Esports After 13-Year Career
Jason “WildTurtle” Tran has officially retired from professional League of Legends (LoL) esports, ending a 13-year career as a player and coach.
The announcement came on March 12 through a video shared by Shopify Rebellion, his most recent team.
In the video, WildTurtle reflected on his journey in esports, explaining that his passion for competition had faded. “My enjoyment with the esports space has finally come to an end,” he said. He now wants to focus on family, pets, and new hobbies like skiing.
WildTurtle made his LCS debut in 2013, securing a Pentakill in his first game for TSM and winning multiple titles, including the IEM Season XI World Championship. He later played for FlyQuest, CLG, and Immortals before transitioning to coaching.
Although he is stepping away, WildTurtle remains grateful for the friends, experiences, and fans he gained throughout his career.
