The Riot Games Project L is a 2D fighting game themed around League of Legends. Although this surprised the fans, the Riot Developers wanted to show their skills. After all, they now dominate auto-chess battlers, first-person shooters, and even animated series. It seems like Riot wants to get their hands on every genre possible.

What is Riot Games Project L?
In the simplest explanation, it is a 2D fighting game like Tekken or Street Fighter. The developers hope to make their way to the fighting game genre with a strong contender like Project L. However, no one knows much about the project for now. The only thing for fans to go on is the early footage, suggesting that resources are put into the project.
You can also see in the footage that Riot Games Project L looks stunning. However, the release date of the final product is only up to speculation. After all, there is no official release date or statement from Riot. So, we can only speculate that it might take around six years to make, like Valorant or Arcane.
The original statement from Riot is that 2022 will be most unlikely for the game’s release. It also led to fans speculating that it could launch in 2023. However, based on the previous projects, we can expect the game around 2024-2025. After all, they’re already using League of Legends assets. Yet, we also can’t expect anything any time soon.
