The League of Legends Patch 13.13 arrives today, and it features tons of changes, including nerfs and buffs. There will also be a few changes to our favorite items and the new Elderwood and Star Guardian skins. Yet, what’s more important to me as a Jungle main is the buff to Lee Sin. I can’t wait to use him later in my games, so let’s get down to breaking down what’s new.

League of Legends Patch 13.13 Highlights

For the new patch, there are tons of things to highlight that it becomes too much. There will be balance changes for champions, like Aphelios, Ivern, Neeko, Rell, and more. You will also find some balance changes toward the champions in the All-Random All-Mid (ARAM) game mode.

Yet, one of the highlights also includes the latest additions to the Elderwood and Star Guardian skin lines. Patch 13.13 will give us the Elderwood Karthus and Elderwood Wukong skins. It also involves the arrival of Star Guardian Orianna and Star Guardian Seraphine, which are long-awaited skins.

It also comes as no surprise that Yorick did not receive anything again for this patch. Although we expected as much, he still needs to become stronger for the new 2v2v2v2 game mode. You can check out this article about the League of Legends Arena Mode possibly becoming permanent.

Patch 13.13 Highlights

Patch Summary

Since the patch notes for Patch 13.13 will be too long, we’ll summarize them quickly. Let’s start with the changes to Ranked Queues. This season, every player who achieved Gold and above in ranked queues will receive a Victorious Anivia. The second split will also begin on July 19, 2023. This means you only have little time to grind and claim your rewards.

Riot Games also removed the promo series between divisions, allowing you to climb easier than before. They also reduced the number of placement games to achieve a rank for the season from 10 games to 5 games. You will also find the new Emerald rank in Split 2 located between Platinum and Diamond.

Patch 13.13 ARAM Changes

There will be champions receiving buffs and nerfs exclusively for the ARAM game mode. These champions are:

  • Aatrox (buffed): 100% Damage Dealt to 105%
  • Azir (nerfed): 105% Damage Dealt to 100%
  • Caitlyn (buffed): 95% Damage Dealt to 100%
  • Evelynn (nerfed): 85% Damage Taken to 90%
  • Jinx (buffed): 90% Damage Dealt to 95%
  • Karma (buffed): 100% Shielding to 110%
  • Qiyana (nerfed): 80% Damage Taken to 90%
  • Rumble (nerfed): 105% Damage Dealt to 100%
  • Zed (nerfed): 90% Damage Taken to 95%

These are the balance changes exclusively for ARAM in Patch 13.13. You will spot that some of your favorite champions received drastic changes to their stats. However, it is understandable since most of them are either too weak or too strong in ARAM.

Champion Balance Changes

There will be tons of balance changes to champions in Patch 13.13. Some are in favor of the Jungle while others will hope to increase the pick rate of some champions. Here’s a summary of what you need to know:

  • Annie:
    • Q – Disintegrate Magic Damage: 80/115/150/185/220 (+80% AP) to 70/105/140/175/210 (+75% AP)
  • Aphelios:
    • Severum
      • Life Steal on Attacks: 2.5%-9% (levels 1-18) decreased to 2%-7.1% (levels 1-18)
      • Life Steal on Abilities: 8.33%-30% (levels 1-18) decreased to 5%-17.75% (levels 1-18)
    • Gravitum
      • Slow Duration on Attacks: 3.5 seconds decreased to 2.5 seconds
    • Crescendum
      • Sentry Base Attack Speed: 0.8 to 0.64, which will scale with Aphelios’ bonus attack speed in Patch 13.13.
  • Ivern:
    • W – Brushmaker
      • Bonus Magic Damage On-Hit: 30/37.5/45/52.5/60 (+30% AP) decreased to 20/27.5/35/42.5/50 (+20% AP)
    • R – Daisy!
      • Daisy Base Movement Speed: 440 decreased to 430
      • Daisy, Slam! Base Damage: 40/60/80 decreased to 20/40/60
  • Kindred:
    • Base Health: 610 decreased to 580
    • Base Armor: 29 decreased to 26
  • Lee Sin
    • Q – Sonic Wave/Resonating Strike
      • Sonic Wave Damage: 55/80/105/130/155 (+110% bonus AD) to 55/80/105/130/155 (+115% bonus AD)
      • Resonating Strike Minimum Damage: 55/80/105/130/155 (+110% bonus AD) to 55/80/105/130/155 (+115% bonus AD)
      • Resonating Strike Maximum Damage: 110/160/210/260/310 (+220% bonus AD) to 110/160/210/260/310 (+230% bonus AD)
  • Neeko
    • Q – Blooming Burst
      • Cooldown: 7 seconds increased to 9/8.5/8/7.5/7 seconds
    • W – Shapesplitter
      • Proc Bonus Damage: 50/80/110/140/170 (+60% AP) decreased to 40/75/110/145/180 (+60% AP)
    • R – Pop Blossom
      • Channel Disguised Duration: Instead of Neeko being disguised for the whole 1.25-second cast time, it’s now changed to the first 0.5 seconds of the cast. She will remain revealed for the remaining 0.75 seconds.

  • Nidalee
    • Movement Speed: 335 increased to 340
  • Rek’Sai
    • Base Attack Damage: 61 decreased to 58
    • Base Health: 640 decreased to 600
  • Rell
    • Health Regeneration Growth: 1.7 decreased to 1.5
    • Base Magic Resistance: 32 decreased to 30
    • Magic Resistance Growth: 2.05 decreased to 1.85
    • Q – Shattering Strike
      • Bonus Damage to Monsters: 150/220/290/360/430 increased to 170/245/320/395/470 
    • W – Ferromancy: Crash Down/Mount Up
      • Crash Down Shield: 35/60/85/110/135 (+12% of maximum HP) decreased to 15/40/65/90/110 (+12% of maximum HP)
      • Dismounted Attack Speed: 15/20/25/30/35% now permanently at 30%
    • E – Full Tilt
      • Bonus Damage to Monsters: 100/145/190/235/280 increased to 120/165/210/255/300
  • Varus
    • W – Blighted Quiver
      • On-Hit Magic Damage: 7/12/17/22/27 (+30% AP) increased to 7/12/17/22/27 (+35% AP)
      • Damage per Blight Stack: 3/3.5/4/4.5/5% (+2.5% per 100 AP) of target’s maximum HP now decreased to 3/3.5/4/4.5/5% (+1.5% per 100 AP) of target’s maximum HP
  • Vi
    • Passive – Blast Shield
      • Shield Scaling: 13% of maximum health decreased to 10% of maximum health
    • R – Cease and Desist
      • Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds increased to 140/115/90 seconds
  • Wukong
    • E – Nimbus Strike
      • Damage to Monsters Modifier: 120% decreased to 100%. Yet, you should also note that they removed the modifier, making this a permanent change/

Balance Changes to Items

Patch 13.13 will also feature balance changes to your favorite items. It does fix a few bugs but it might impact the overall valuation of your item strategy. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Duskblade of Draktharr
    • Bugfix: If you score a takedown while channeling, you will no longer proc Duskblade’s untargetable passive.
  • Essence Reaver
    • Spellblade Damage Increase: 100% Base AD (+40% Bonus AD) increased to 130% Base AD (+20% AD)
  • Statikk Shiv
    • Minion Damage Decrease: 250-450 (based on level) (+125% AP) to 250-450 (based on level) (+0% AP)
    • Non-Minion Damage Decrease: 100-180 (based on level) (+50% AP) to 100-180 (based on level) (+30% AP)
  • Stormrazor
    • Energize Damage Increase: 15 (+60% AD) (+50% AP) to 90 (+25% AD) (+0% AP)
