Why Did They Disable Alistar from the League of Legends Arena Game Mode?
The champion became quite the powerhouse for the League of Legends Arena Mode. Although there are other strong characters to use, no one can resist the Minotaur’s charm. After all, who wouldn’t want to just tank all the damage while your partner decimates the enemy team?
However, the reason they disabled Alistar from the League of Legends Arena game mode is because of his ultimate. His ultimate removes all crowd control effects while also reducing any incoming damage — both physical and magical. Although it lasts for a few seconds, this ability alone makes him a prime choice for the Arena.
Riot did not specify the bug or glitch that caused his temporary disable from the queue. However, we can assume it might be due to the overpowered numbers that made him nearly invincible during Arena games. After all, you can reach up to almost 60k damage with ADCs in the game. Yet, Alistar just won’t die.
The League of Legends developers also nerfed Alistar in Patch 13.15. His second ability and ultimate ability received harsh nerfs regarding their Ability Haste. Yet, players still consider him a powerful force during regular game modes on the Summoner’s Rift.
