Gathering Lye

Once you have the ash, take it to an Ashery and add a new task to transform it into lye. Once it’s done, you’re ready to gather the other resources for soap in Dwarf Fortress.
Obtaining Tallow
Gathering tallow is a bit more complicated. You’ll need to designate an animal for butchering through the citizen information menu.
