All Psychic Type Weaknesses
To tell you the truth, there are not many Psychic Type Weaknesses out there but you should still do your homework. Do not neglect to learn about it because it is not as obvious as you might think. There are only three types to focus on when it comes to weaknesses.
Bug-type Pokemon are a good choice for battling Psychic-type Pokemon because they are super effective against them. This is because Bug-type moves are based on the power of insects, and that does not make sense at all. Kidding aside, Bug-type moves are a legitimate Psychic Type Weakness so you should be aware of it.
One of the more obvious weaknesses for Psychic types is Ghost-type moves. The notorious Shadow Ball can easily one hit a Psychic type. This is because ghosts are not physical beings, so they are not susceptible to psychic powers. Frankly, ghosts not only haunt humans but Psychics as well.
Dark-type Pokemon are also super effective against Psychic-type Pokemon because they are immune to Psychic-type moves. This is because dark is the opposite of light, and psychic powers are based on light. Having an immunity to Psychic moves means that you should be super effective against them right? That is true in the case of Dark-types.
All Type Resistances
Psychic Type Resistances are the same with the weaknesses when it comes to few numbers. In fact, it is even fewer than those mentioned above. To be exact, there are only a total of two Psychic Type Resistances. This is why they are never meant to be a tank because they don’t have much resistances barring a few exceptions.
The first of the two resistances is the Fighting-type. Fighting type moves do not bode well when used against a Psychic Type. The mind is stronger than the body after all that is why Psychic types do not have a problem with brawlers. While its defenses are not too reliable, you do not have to be scared of Fighting types becoming one of the Psychic Type Weaknesses.
The last of the Psychic Type Resistances is the Psychic Type. Since they are of the same ilk, they do not have to fear one another. Psychic type moves cancel each other out leading to resistances to one another. Since they are masters of their own powers, they can easily handle the same attacks on themselves.
