So, you’re here to learn how to uninstall Dota 2. Videogames have a love-hate relationship with the players they entertain. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, we find ourselves wanting to rid ourselves of a game. Don’t worry, this is a staple for those who are privileged in their internet speed. Reinstalling a videogame is a rite of passage, after taking some time off. But the real rite of passage is raising both hands and deciding to uninstall the game in a fit of rage.

Dota 2, according to Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, is a sick mental game, and that reflects in the game state. The game revolves around broken characters and items, where mistakes are punished without mercy. In its competitive mode, it becomes natural to expect the best from your teammates, even if they are random in each game. Alright, you hate the game, now it’s time to get rid of it from your library, but how do you do it?

Accessing Your Library

Your first step on the road to removing Dota is to find your game library in Steam. The library is the place you go to in the Steam client to access all your games. Depending on how interesting your inventory is, you might want to keep it hidden from others. From here, it should be easy to locate your Dota 2 game, as the game lists it as “Installed Locally.”

Locating The Game

Open Steam to Access Dota 2

This step takes as much time as your eyes can gloss over your entire library list. Your game library is arranged in alphabetical order, but finding a red square should be easy. There is a way to find it if you can do the previous two tips—press the letter D.

Same as in the Hero screen in Dota, pressing a letter in the library selects the first game with that letter. If you still cannot locate Dota 2, there is a search bar at the top left of the library screen.

Right-Click Dota in Your Library

After 4 hours, we are here at the end of our journey. When you follow all the instructions well so far, your client will present you with this window.
