How to Not Tilt in Dota 2

How to Not Tilt in Dota 2
  • PublishedDecember 23, 2022

Anti-tilting just might be the hardest thing to do in Dota 2. Forget the Invoker spells, the micro-managing, and even using Meepo. If there is a way to not get tilted in Dota 2, I will gladly give up my paycheck and use all of my money to know how to do that.

Stop tilting in games. If you figure out how to do that, you will likely win more games, rather than the opposite. We all know that it is hard to not tilt in Dota 2, much more in the SEA region where players are the deadliest (most toxic).

In the SEA region, your peace and mental well-being will be tested to their limits. You will see every tilting thing in the books. It can range from trolling to everyone wanting to play carry or the classic textbook toxicity in chat.

Nonetheless, keep your cool and do not get tilted. If you do so you will play better, and you can enjoy this beautiful game at its finest. As everyone knows, Dota 2 is perfect besides its community.

Now let us discuss the main topic of the article: How to Not Get Tilted in Dota 2.

Anti-Tilting Tips in Dota 2

Anti-tilting brings peace

Keep Calm and Remember that it is Just a Game.

It might seem self-explanatory, but staying calm is one of the best things a player can do in Dota 2.

Once players find themselves getting flamed and start flaming back, it’s easy to get distracted. Distraction leads to mistakes, which just increases the level of frustration. It is a vicious cycle.

The best thing to do in these sorts of situations is to stay calm and not let the toxicity get to you. A concrete action you can take, of course, is just mute the toxic players who annoy the hell out of you. In doing so, you will get a sense of relief and calmness. Remember, they are not worth it.

Never Give Up

One of the most common problems in Dota is related to people just plain giving up. Not only is this a problem in the low-skill ranks, but it exists in the highest level of ranked games as well.

How many times have players had a teammate who spams GG in All Chat ten minutes into the game? If players pay too much attention to these people, they accept a loss before it ever happens.

It is disheartening to know that your team is giving up when there is still a chance to win. That is why instead of griefing the entire game, players need to try to think of a way to deal with their opponents. Comebacks in Dota 2 are not even surprising anymore, as they can happen to anyone. Never give up, and never surrender.

Learn to Accept a Loss. Just Come Back Stronger

Just like any other competitive game or sport, there are winners and losers. You cannot win every single game. The sooner you accept that fact, the sooner you get calmer and more collected.

Learning to accept a loss does not mean that you just simply give up. In every game you lose, you can always come back stronger in the next one. With every loss you take, you will learn from your mistakes and how to correct them. Adapting a more positive mindset will mold you into a better player.
