Genshin Impact immerses you in a vibrant fantasy world filled with lively and colorful characters. Not to mention, the game has more than enough playable characters that you can choose to build. From DPS characters to supports, here are the top three Cryo characters that can make your gameplay more fun and a lot easier—especially when tackling the Spiral Abyss.
Top Genshin Cryo Characters
Ganyu

Ganyu, half-human, and half-Adeptus, is undoubtedly one of the most formidable DPS characters in Genshin Impact since her kit is all about dealing as much Cryo damage as possible. Players mainly bank on her Charged Attack, which fires a Frostflake Arrow that deals with Cryo DMG. Upon contact, it blooms and deals an additional AoE Cryo DMG.
When partnered with a Hydro character, this ability makes it easy for her to freeze enemies and deal with critical hits by striking their weak points. Her passive, “Undivided Heart,” also increases the CRIT Rate of subsequent Frostflake Arrows by 20% for 5 seconds. It may seem short, but sometimes it makes the difference when quickly taking down bosses and mobs.
Her damage-dealing prowess is also further enhanced by her Elemental Skill, “Trail of the Qilin,” where she leaves an Ice Lotus that taunts surrounding opponents and lets Ganyu slide off to a safe distance. When the lotus is destroyed, it also deals heavy AoE Cryo DMG.
If you’re not a huge fan of her playstyle, you can also build her as a burst support character. Her Elemental Burst, “Celestial Shower,” allows her to summon a Sacred Cryo Pearl that continuously rains down shards of ice that deal significant Cryo DMG.
Kamisato Ayaka

When talking about Cryo characters, Shirasagi Himegimi is always at the top of everyone’s mind. Kamisato Ayaka is unparalleled when it comes to Cryo application and freezing enemies. Her kit is made to apply Cryo effects on all her enemies, making it easy to freeze them.
Her movement is also interCryo Charactersesting, thanks to her alternate sprint. Similar to Mona, Ayaka’s alternate sprint allows her to transform into an icy mist and run across the battlefield. Once she exits, she applies Cryo to nearby enemies and infuses it into her sword.
Her skill, “Kamisato Art: Hyouka,” summons blooming ice that deals AoE Cryo DMG to nearby opponents, while her burst, “Kamisato Art: Soumetsu,” summons a snowstorm that unleashes a Frostflake Seki no To. This snowstorm deals with continuous Cryo DMG, and once its duration has ended, it explodes on the enemies to deal even more damage.
Eula

Although it may be a bit weird to call the Spindrift Knight a Cryo character since she’s all about Physical damage, Eula Lawrence still wields the Cryo element and, thus, is a Cryo character. Although not really a great choice, if you’re looking for a character that is great at Cryo application, dealing physical damage is a different story.
Among the available playable characters in the game, Eula is one of the best if you’re looking for a Physical DPS. Her playstyle is all about nuking her opponents, one-shotting them with her Elemental Burst, “Glacial Illumination.” It has about 7 seconds to charge before falling and exploding on nearby enemies.
Her attack patterns are also quite interesting since she incorporates dance moves from the “Dance of Sacrifice” into her own style of “Favonius Bladework.” It seems as if she’s dancing across the battlefield, eliminating her enemies with elegance and grace.
Top Genshin Cryo Characters: Honorable Mention
Diona

Diona Kätzlein might be a feline bartender that, ironically, wants to destroy Mondstadt’s wine industry, but she is one of the best support Cryo characters in the game. Being a Cryo healer deserves an honorable mention!
Diona is versatile, being able to provide shields to her team thanks to her skill “Icy Paws.” If you press on the skill, it fires two Icy Paws and creates a shield. If you hold the skill, she backflips and sends off five Icy Paws. Even better, her shield will gain a 75% damage absorption bonus.
She can also support the team with her healing abilities. Her burst, “Signature Mix,” allows her to toss an AoE cold brew that produces a Drunken Mist. Any enemy inside the circle gets attacked by Cryo damage, while teammates continuously regain their HP.
