Sonic Frontiers 2023 Roadmap Reveal

SEGA brought Sonic back to life in the newest installment of the long-standing series Sonic Frontiers. After the release on November 8, 2023, the game received a positive reception from the fans as Sonic Frontiers’ ratings were overwhelmingly positive on Steam. The developers are uncomfortable with complacency, which is why the official content roadmap is coming for the upcoming year. 

SEGA released the 2023 roadmap stating that the game will receive three massive updates throughout the year. The first update will be the addition of a Juke Box feature. This feature will allow the players to freely choose the music that they will hear in-game. In addition, the first update will add a Photo Mode and additional Challenge Modes to choose from. 

The second update in 2023 is dedicated to Sonic’s birthday, but its celebration regarding the game remains to be unclear. However, the mystery behind it makes the fans feel excited as to what the birthday celebration will bring to the game. The franchise’s birthday is in June so that narrows down the possibilities regarding the update’s arrival. The update will also have more Open Zone Challenges and more Koko to collect other than Sonic’s birthday. 

The Third Update

The third update will be the biggest one of them all. The final update for the game will introduce new playable characters and a story expansion to boot. While the story expansion details remain a mystery, the roadmap shows images of Tails, Amy, Sage, and Knuckles. So, the story might revolve around these characters. If you are a big fan of Sonic games, there is no better time to be alive than 2023.
