CD Projekt Red (CDPR) canceled the Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer project a while back and shows no signs of returning. Unfortunately, the game did not receive that much love due to its infamous release on December 10, 2020. The disappointment from the players and fans gained the attention of the developers.
It was also then that they decided to scrap the Cyberpunk multiplayer and focus on the massive problems. After all, these problems included bugs, glitches, crashes, and platform compatibility issues. The game’s poor performance ultimately led to a poorer gameplay experience. However, the frustrations remain on why there isn’t a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077.
Why There Isn’t A Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer
CDPR wanted a futuristic game about the high-crime adventures of V in Night City. However, they released the game too early and it ended up with too many performance issues. Yet, they did not initially want to let go of the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer DLC. The developers wanted to postpone it until they resolved the gameplay issues.
However, it took two years to finally get a stable version of the game. In those two years of bug fixes and patches, they decided to abandon the multiplayer DLC altogether. After all, they had no real time to make it into development. CD Projekt Red also decided to focus their time and efforts on other projects that needed their attention.
It is quite a frustrating fact that there was no Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer DLC. With such an expansive open-world game, you would think you should explore it with friends. You could also start cruising around in stolen cars or finishing missions together.
However, you shouldn’t give up just yet, choom. Cyberpunk 2 might correct the mistakes from the prequel, and you can finally play together online. A roadmap from CD Projekt Red featured the developer’s determination to have a multiplayer DLC. After all, it’s no fun to play alone in a game like Cyberpunk.

Is There a Multiplayer for Phantom Liberty?
Unfortunately, the issues also affected the first and last DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. There is no Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer for the DLC. Although Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty planned to have a high-octane, spy-thriller story, it didn’t fly.
Although there was the Edgerunners update, it also did not include a multiplayer DLC. We can only hope to see our wishes granted in the sequel. As we mentioned earlier, the sequel, labeled Project Orion, might be an improvement. Don’t give up on the game just yet!
Even more, don’t forget to try out the Phantom Liberty DLC. Although it doesn’t have a Cyberpunk multiplayer DLC, you can still enjoy the changes to the gameplay. You can also enjoy the spy-thriller story made by the developers.
