Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty arrives on March 3, 2023. It’s also the latest souls-like game from Team NINJA. The talented developers also gave us the Nioh franchise that touched tons of gamer hearts. It might undoubtedly be one of the top RPGs of 2023.

Team NINJA smoothly sets the game in the Three Kingdoms era of China. You might also fight mythical monsters, heroes, and possibly terrifying gods. Here’s everything you need to know about Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Release Date and Platform for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

We also mentioned earlier that the game arrives Friday, March 3, 2023. The platforms include PC, Microsoft Store, PlayStation 4&5, and the Xbox Series X/S. However, there is no information on its release for the Nintendo Switch.

What to Expect?

You will embark on an adventure through the Chinese Three Kingdoms era as a nameless soldier. In your adventure, you will also face beasts from dark mythology and a few corrupted legendary warriors. There are also fierce demons at play and an intriguing elixir of immortality.

Although the gameplay is a bit like the Nioh franchise, Team NINJA made a few interesting features for us. The fighting style has deep roots in Chinese mythology and traditional Chinese martial arts.

It still has a more linear scope for exploration, like the Nioh franchise, but there’s one new thing. The addition of the jump button also allows you to reach new areas unavailable before. Now, you can also have a more open-area experience.

The Unnamed Soldier in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Since it’s undoubtedly a Souls-like game, there are tons of challenging combat. However, it also leaves you satisfied because it scales with your skill level. There is also the concept of Qi, which is a significant resource to keep an eye on.

You can also replenish Qi by raising your Spirit level. However, the only way to do that is to fight the bad guys. It also gives you some battery to power your damage-dealing spells and deadly martial arts techniques. You should note that your enemies also have Spirit and Qi.

The big bad monsters and warriors will not hesitate to steamroll you into oblivion. So, you will also have no shortage of the Souls-like experience. It’s an experience that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty happily provides.

Wo Long Game Mechanics and Looting

Another game mechanic that excites players is the parry. It’s undoubtedly similar to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but also significantly reduces your enemy’s Spirit. You can also find mechanics like the Fatal Strike attack and summoning five varying Divine Beasts.

These Divine Beasts give you options, from passive buffs to destroying your opponents. However, the most exciting part of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is the loot system because of the Morale Rank system.

Your Morale Rank is your power level, which your opponents conveniently have as well. Enemies with higher MR are much harder to defeat, whereas you can easily flatten those with lower MR.

If you decide to go against enemies with higher Morale Rank, you’ll gain much more powerful loot. You can also obtain high-tier gear alongside the risk of dying multiple times. Overall, it’s an interesting high-risk, high-reward system for souls-like players.

The Demo Saves for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s demo is available from February 23 to March 27, 2023. It’s also available on the PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, and the Xbox Series X/S. However, that’s not what interests the players.

Undoubtedly, the most interesting part of the demo is the saved data. You can play around with the first two chapters of the game, and your files can also transfer to the official game. Even more, you can also redeem the Crouching Dragon helmet on day one.

Overall, we’re excited about Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. How about you? If you liked this article, check out others on our website. You can also follow us on social media to stay updated with the latest esports and gaming news.
