Following the announced cancelations and Skull and Bones’s delay coming out of Ubisoft, it is understandable if fans are a little concerned about Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
It is the next installment to the storied franchise of Assassin’s Creed. The release date is later this year for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. However, there has not been any official indication of a release date. Initial speculations and rumors imply that we can see the game in the Summer.
According to Polish retailer Allegro, Assassin’s Creed Mirage Release Date will be June 30. The date conveniently lands on a Friday, when most triple-A titles go live. It’s worth noting that it is also at the end of June.
While it’s hard to say what’s happening behind closed doors at Ubisoft, it does stand to reason that 2023 will still be Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s year. It may release in early 2024. Skull and Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Even more, all of these were said to release by March 2024 by Ubisoft. But it is more likely that the early 2024 title will be either Avatar or the unannounced game than AC Mirage. Assuming this is the case, fans can expect to play Assasin’s Creed Mirage later this year.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage News
Assassin’s Creed Mirage only has one trailer, a few characters to reveal, and some teases so far. Players will take on the role of Basim, as Roshan trained him as his mentor. They will also try to understand the nightmares he endures.
He is seemingly haunted by a Djinn. However, the development studio confirmed that the popular theories that this was Loki were untrue. The newfound mystery around it bodes well for the story.
The clearest expectation fans can have for the year reinforces marketing over the coming months. It’s also due to the popularity of the franchise and Ubisoft’s recent woes. They want a win on the books as soon as they can. The hype around AC Mirage could be just that.
Outside Basim and Roshan, Ubisoft has confirmed that there are at least two major characters for Assassin’s Creed Mirage that they have not revealed yet. Unless Ubisoft is going for secrecy around them, fans can expect to see them crop up.
What About the Gameplay?
The gameplay is a must-know too. At the same time, Ubisoft showcased its parkour, smoke bombs, and crowds in the trailer. Seeing the live gameplay could be a deciding factor for many fans out there.
Beyond those elements, a story trailer or two highlighting specific assassinations is certainly possible, as while much of Basim’s story should remain in wraps, marketing still has to sell the game. The story, gameplay, and characters are all major factors that will likely get a spotlight ahead of the game’s launch.
Ubisoft depicted Assassin’s Creed Mirage as a love letter to the original game and the action-adventure-oriented entries of the franchise. The marketing team will likely tie these together in some ways.
Surely, they will be making sure to establish Basim’s story as its own game. Perhaps the biggest question is not what they will show, but when they will finally release the information fans long for.
