As a matter of fact, even the most dedicated players may not know about all of the hidden secrets that are hidden throughout the game’s expansive open world. In this article, we intend to shine a light on 3 hidden GTA 5 secrets that you might be interested in.
The Great Alien Egg

Rockstar Games and aliens are no strangers to one another. The renowned game studio almost always includes aliens in some capacity in each of their games. Being their flagship franchise, Grand Theft Auto games certainly have aliens in them as well, such is the case with GTA 5.

This particular alien-based easter egg/secret is exclusive to GTA 5’s online multiplayer mode, GTA: Online. It is an alien egg that was used in an online hidden mission. It is worth noting that this secret only came to GTA 5 as a hidden item after the “Gunrunning” online update.
After purchasing a bunker and completing an outrageous number of Supply Run missions, 600 to be exact, players would then need to complete another Supply Run between 9 pm and 11 pm to activate a super hidden Supply Run mission. Once done perfectly, your online character should arrive at a crashed UFO site with a mysterious green egg in the middle.
Naturally, players will try picking up the egg. If you do so, a group of aliens will scream aiming to startle you before quickly disappearing. Nevertheless, picking up the egg should give players a sizeable amount of money as a reward and should complete the secret Supply Run.
It is a convoluted setup for what seems to be a simple easter egg, indeed. Believe us, completing 600 Supply Runs is no joke. Just a few hundred of it is already too much grinding for a normal person. However, it is one of the game’s most storied secrets, so there’s that.
The Ghost of Jolene Cranley-Evans

One of the most well-known hidden secrets in GTA 5 is the ghost of Jolene Cranley-Evans. Jolene was the wife of politician Jock Cranley. In a surprising turn of events, her demise came from the hands of her own husband on Mount Gordo. Her ghost is a reminder of the violence that can happen in the world. It is also a reminder that even though someone is gone, they can still be remembered.
To see Jolene’s ghost, players must go to the top of Mount Gordo at midnight. She will be standing on the cliff, facing the ocean. She has a petrified open-mouthed look on her face with empty white eyes staring directly in front of her. The only movement the spirit makes is a very slight bobbing in a circular motion and a cyclone of wind.
Although ghost-themed secrets are arguably as prevalently featured in games such as alien easter eggs, Jolene’s ghost is noteworthy due to how tragic it is. Jolene Cranley-Evans’ ghost is not just out to scare unsuspecting players, it aims to tell a story that further expands GTA 5’s game world. On top of being one of the greatest GTA 5 secrets out there, it is also a wonderful world-building tool.
The Mount Chiliad Mystery

Rockstar Games really love aliens. Our next hidden GTA 5 secret involves yet another alien-based easter egg and one that is extremely popular with players. We are talking about the Mount Chiliad Mystery and the mysterious UFO. This GTA 5 mystery is so out there that it feels impossible to not at least have heard about it as a player of the game.
At the top of Mount Chiliad, players can find a mural that appears to depict a strange UFO. Along with it are curious markings scattered around the mountain itself, which further expounds the mystery behind the said mural. It is said that if players solve the mystery, they can find a UFO hidden in the game world.
The markings include a mural, several glyphs, and a jetpack. The mural depicts a man standing in front of a UFO, with three other figures in the background. The glyphs are a series of symbols that have been interpreted in a variety of ways. Some believe that the glyphs are a map of the jetpack, while others believe that they are a message from aliens.
This led to thousands and thousands of players dedicating most of their hours to scouring the mountain and the whole world map itself in search of more clues. However, up to this day, nobody has still seemingly found any concrete evidence supporting or negating this claim.
To this day, the Mount Chiliad Mystery remains one of gaming’s greatest mysteries. It has been a source of debate and speculation for about a decade now. While others have already given up deciphering the curious mural and markings, some are still dedicated to finally putting a stamp to this supposed GTA 5 secret. Hoax or not, it is up to each individual player to decide what they believe.
