Top 3 Best Assassin’s Creed Titles
  • PublishedFebruary 28, 2023

The best Assassin’s Creed titles has graced the community with over 15 years of fantastic stories. All gave us a peek into history, with worlds mirroring the real occurrences. We’ve met so many compelling characters and terrifying ones over the years.

While the next installment is approaching to continue the saga, it wouldn’t exist without the rest. This franchise built itself from a connecting line of stories and protagonists.

The game design is straightforward: You play as a titular Assassin set in a period. Your goal is to foil the plans of your enemies, which is given in the narrative as missions. You are also free to explore the world of the game, as there is much to see and find.

Whatever manner of characters or creatures you encounter, you will find the games to be worth your time and effort. There are titles to choose from but for our list, there are three that are standouts of the franchise.

Assassin’s Creed Origins

Ancient Egypt receives its unique storyline in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. During this game, you play as Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay turned founder of the brotherhood. The Order of the Ancients took interest in a vault in Siwa and kidnapped Bayek and his son Khemu.

Unable to get what they needed, Bayek was able to get free, but they murdered Khemu in the process. This begins the long quest for vengeance that overarches the entire game.

The game is set in the Ptolemaic Dynasty, in the time of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar. Origins welcome you with upgradable gear and enemies with health boxes and levels. To progress the game means leveling up and getting better equipment.

Your subtask then is to improve Bayek as you move through regions and unlock new things. The scenery is quite a treat to behold, so don’t move too fast and take a look around.

AC 4: Black Flag

The golden age of piracy made its way into the franchise with Black Flag. In this story, you play Edward Kenway, a man of many things and misadventures. It is during this time that the ship mechanics of the franchise took center stage.

Edward is joined by notable historical pirates like John Rackham and Edward Teach or Blackbeard. You command a ship named the Jackdaw and, together with your partner Adewale, explore the Caribbean.

The enemy, the Templars, is poised to control the world through an ancient device that can spy on others. It is up to you to eliminate the local order, one Templar at a time. During this, you go through a series of missions that see you defeat lesser Templars.

In true AC fashion, you also have a real-life world to explore. Now in Abstergo as a worker, you shift in-between game and office to complete the story. Like on the high seas, there are things to collect and unlock, but both are optional.

Assassin’s Creed 2

The Italian Renaissance period drama the community dubs as the greatest arc in the franchise. Assassin’s Creed 2 is a love letter to the fans that delivers well past its original release. You take on the life of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, an Italian Assassin. Before that, he was a delinquent and born into the House of Auditore.

After witnessing the atrocity done to his family, Ezio vowed revenge against their killers. His story transforms from vengeance to finding a higher purpose. The game improves on the movement of AC1, making parkour more enjoyable. It does suffer from platform ports, especially when you spam parry or counter.

Now, a new game arises from the smoke and ashes as Ubisoft brings us another one of the best Assassin’s Creed games. Remember, everything is permitted. Follow us on social media to stay updated with the latest esports and gaming news.
