The Steam Awards 2022 is near. Who is your bet to win it all? Registered users can choose from the titles available on the platform to nominate one for each category. Valve then presents gamers with the five top names submitted for that particular category as the final nominees.
Valve revealed the final nominees one by one each day for this year’s Steam Awards. With the nominees revealed, players can now log in and vote for the title they feel deserves to win the category.
The Steam Awards has a variety of categories for its awards. With a whopping total of 11 awards, expect that almost all genres are present in this awards event. Although it is far from the most prestigious award, winning the Steam Awards is still an excellent accomplishment for every game developer out there.
As announced by Valve, Steam users can vote for their desired Steam Awards 2022 nominations by logging onto the platform and casting their ballots. The voting period will remain live from 10 am PST, December 22, 2022, to 9 am PST, January 3, 2023.
The categories that I anticipate the most are the Game of the Year, Best Game You Suck At, and the Labor of Love. All these categories have titles that truly deserve the award. The awards can go either way from all those nominated. Ultimately, the winners will be decided by the community so feel free to have an opinion in this year’s Steam Awards.

The Game of the Year nominees is jam-packed with awesomely good titles such as Dying Light 2, Elden Ring, Stray, God of War, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. However, in this category, there are clear frontrunners to win the award. If the Game Awards 2022 is still fresh on the community’s minds, expect Elden Ring to win Game of the Year.
Labor of Love

- Cyberpunk 2077
This game has been out for a while. The team is well past the debut of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation. This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years.
However, in terms of the category, the clear frontrunner is Cyberpunk 2077. Also, with its resurgence of the hotly contested game, it can all be attributed to the devs’ efforts to redeem themselves. I fully expect that Cyberpunk 2077 will win the Labor of Love award.

This game rewards persistence and is not for the faint of heart. It’s the toughest game we’ve ever loved.
Just like in the Game of the Year category, I expect Elden Ring to win this category as well. Elden Ring is one of the best games out there and a tough nut to crack as it belongs to the Souls genre. It is one of the hardest games available, but it does not compromise quality to achieve it.
