The Tekken 8 is arriving and we’re excited. Tekken is one of the pillars of the fighting game genre, and now it is ready for the next step. During the Game Awards 2022, Bandai Namco released the trailer video for Tekken 8. They revealed in-game footage of its new fighting system and several returning characters.

First teased at the annual international fighting game tournament, the 2022 Evo Championship Series, fans have been hyped and excited to hear more news and we’re here to help you with that. You’ve come to the right place! This is Tekken 8 and all you need to know about it.

What to expect from Tekken 8?

Maintaining Tekken‘s unique fighting game style, Tekken 8 will feature exciting new gameplay focused on an “aggressive” strategy.  These features are all designed to give players max satisfaction and peak performance.

Expect a lot of visual updates and a massive list of new combos you want to try, but don’t forget to appreciate the scenery in the background of course-

Tekken is well-known for serving players with intense new game mechanics for its new releases. For the upcoming game, Tekken has yet again proved that it is worthy of its title.

Heat System

The trailer highlights an all-new game mechanic called the “Heat System.” This mechanic triggers aggressive attacks with special moves and enhancements for each character’s abilities. The experience will be the most thrilling in the series so far for both players and viewers.

Characters

The trailer showcases the return of several Tekken series characters who have previously appeared. Along with Kazuya and Jin, the trailer featured Forrest Law. They also included Paul Phoenix, a robot Jack unit, King, and Lars Alexandersson. Even Jin’s mother, Jun Kazama, is in the trailer.

A few characters may be available in the early stages of the game, but developers are making sure that, just like in Tekken 7, a variety of characters to choose from will be given to the players as well.

Storyline

The Tekken series holds the Guinness World Record for having the longest-running video game storyline. Tekken 8 continues the feud between father and son, Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima.

Earth is still destroyed by the devastating war between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama when this latest installment of the saga picks up where the previous one left off. Jin must now deal with his fate after what appears to be a defeat at the hands of Kazuya.

Release Date for Tekken 8

Although teased and confirmed in 2022, the potential release date would be sometime in 2024. Katsuhiro Harada, the producer of the Tekken series, mentioned that there’s still plenty of work. According to him, the development will take some time.

Tekken 8’s release has been on the radar of everyone. Plenty of fans expect it to perform better and more efficiently than its predecessor, Tekken 7. They scheduled the upcoming fighting game for release on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S.

On the eSports side, Tekken 7 has paved its way to the top of tournaments and player favor. But with the new flavor Tekken 8 is bringing, it may change the preferences of players both new and old.
