Street Fighter 6 Combat and Gameplay

Tons of signature Street Fighter mechanics will return for this sequel. These mechanics include the EX special moves also alongside the super moves. However, make no mistake, the new game will also feature new gameplay mechanics, defining the originality of Street Fighter 6.
There is an all-new Drive System, which is the main component of a fighter. It also comes along with a Drive Gauge that you can use to activate five different moves. These moves include the Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Overdrive, Drive Rush, and Drive Reversal.
A Drive Impact is similar to the Focus Attack from Street Fighter 4. When you activate this move, you can tank a few attacks from your opponent. If you land the move successfully, it also staggers your opponent. The Drive Impact also wall-splats your enemy, even if they successfully block the attack.
However, the Drive Parry is a move you can use to instantly repel enemy attacks. Successful drive parries also replenish your Drive Gauge. You can also activate this move just before your opponent lands a hit to activate Perfect Parry. It slows done the action, giving you a chance to land a counterattack.
Speaking of counterattacks, you can also use the Drive Reversal. Use the reversal when you’re blocking enemy attacks. You can also launch Drive Rush immediately after a Drive Parry or after canceling a normal attack. It will look like your character quickly dashes forward when you launch the move.
Even more, Overdrive is similar to the EX Special Moves. It also gives you a more powerful version of your special move. However, you can quickly notice when you’re opponents start Overdrive because they briefly flash yellow.
The World Tour and Other Game Modes
If you want to play the single-player experience, you can choose The World Tour game mode. It acts as the story mode for Street Fighter 6. You will create a custom character that will follow Luke as you travel around the open-world version of Metro City.
You can have new clothes, use different special moves, and engage in street fights with other customized characters. There might even be times when you also have to fight in a 1v2 battle. They’re more retro-styled with special challenges to dodge objects and beat up vehicles. In the main story of Street Fighter 6, you can also meet other characters like Chun-Li or Ryu.
You can also play other game modes like Battle Hub and Extreme Battle. The Battle Hub is the main arena for the game, allowing you to fight in online battles and tournaments. You can even play other Capcom games like Final Fight and Street Fighter II.
However, Extreme Battle is a revolutionary game mode that introduces new challenges and puzzles. It gives you more ways to experience Street Fighter 6 in a different light. We also heard that one of those challenges includes a bull stampeding to attack both players.
Live Commentary
