Sons of the Forest is available for early access on Steam, and it’s exciting. It is the sequel to the game The Forest, and it also brings new monsters and crafting options. After all, the forest is always watching you, waiting for the right moment to attack.
However, the first game wanted you to search for your missing child after an unexpected crash landing. You also had to survive on an isolated island with cannibals and horrifying mutations setting out to kill you.
Now, in Sons of the Forest, you must look for a missing billionaire with a team of professional private security agents. However, are you ready to take on the unexplored forest?
What’s New in Sons of the Forest?
Unlike its predecessor, Sons of the Forest brings a new style of gameplay. The developers also designed it to support a total of eight players working together to survive the dangerous island. However, you won’t be alone if you play solo.
Endight Games decided to include an AI partner named Kelvin. He is mute due to a brain injury, but you can assign him simple tasks using commands. Kelvin is an important asset and ally to help you survive what comes next.
Your goal is to find the billionaire while also trying to stay alive. After all, you can’t save anyone if you don’t survive the harsh environment and bloodthirsty cannibals. Even more, Sons of the Forest still urges you to gather resources and build forts like its predecessor.
Try to think of it as “The Forest 2”, but with scarier monsters. There are also new mechanics to help you, but you’ll have to play the game to find out. It’s also a good idea to be scared of caves— be very afraid.
Although you can already start playing, Endnight Games released it as Early Access. They also stated that they didn’t want to avoid delaying the game. So, now you can play it from February onwards as they promised. However, beware of the bugs in Sons of the Forest.
