The game is a commercial success, with 5.1 million units sold in the first week of its release. You might have also heard that people nominated it for The Game Awards 2022.
With a deep and immersive story alongside stunning visuals, PlayStation marks it as the fastest-selling first-party game in its history.

The Story So Far
Much like the previous game, God of War: Ragnarok sets you in the land of Scandinavia with the Norse pantheon. Furthermore, you will have to deal with the consequences of killing Baldr.
That means plenty of confrontations with Norse gods like Thor, Odin, Heimdall, and many more. Yet, you can still find plenty of allies for the father and son duo. Brok, Sindri, and Mimir are still by your side, even after the events of Baldr’s death.
In this setting, Kratos’ son, Atreus, is now a teenager, and you can also get the chance to play him. Previously, the story reveals that Atreus is Loki, the Norse god of mischief. In mythology, Loki is a trickster who continuously causes trouble for the other gods.
However, in the game, Atreus is growing up solving the mystery of his mother. He discovers new powers and different abilities that you can use for combat. Although he’s an archer, he can still do plenty of damage in fights.
At the start of the game, Atreus and Kratos are returning from a hunt. Freya ambushes them to take revenge for her son, but they successfully fend her off. They also find that Atreus’ wolf is in his final moments.
The death of Atreus’ wolf fills him with grief. Without control of his powers, he fights with Kratos before falling unconscious. After the battle, a few mysterious gods appear at their home.
The story also allows you to meet mermaids and the glorious Valkyries. However, those are the only things we can reveal without spoiling you too much. You’ll have to go and play the game to enjoy the immersive experience and find more God of War characters, monsters, and combat.
