Overwatch 2 Player Count: Blizzard’s Perspective on Declining Numbers

This could be worrisome for a game like Overwatch 2, which is all about playing with others. However, according to Blizzard’s Executive Producer, Jared Neuss, there’s no need to panic. Neuss argues that the reason for the drop in players is that Overwatch 2 is now free to play. He explained that since the game is easy to get into, players might come and go more casually. They might try out other games along the way, and come back whenever they feel it. Neuss made it clear that he and his team aren’t stressed about the falling Overwatch 2 player count.

How Being Free-to-Play Makes a Difference
