The developers confirmed that the Cyberpunk DLC release date will occur in 2023. However, they have not specified a precise date.

In the base game, Cyberpunk 2077, the devs delayed the launch several times and ultimately launched with a lot of bugs. It is easier to understand why they might not want to pre-announce an exact date until they are ready this time around.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC Gameplay and Story Details

The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC is a spy thriller, and the trailer gives us some clues regarding the story. It looks like the player character, V, will be swearing an oath to work with the New United States of America. And this oath, according to Keanu Reeves’s Johnny Silverhand, is a bad idea.

The DLC will take players to a new region of Night City. Although we have not seen gameplay footage yet, the trailer seems to promise lots of high-octane action. It also includes at least one dramatic helicopter crash.

Cyberpunk 2077 offers multiple endings to its game, and you can see how to unlock them in this article. Since there are multiple endings, fans speculate that the DLC will unlock a new ending to the game.

While the setting of the DLC is during 2077’s main quest, players still hope that its ramifications will open up another ending for V and Johnny back in the base game.

Considering the DLC will see V work with the NUSA government, many do believe it will affect the game’s ending. However, they do not necessarily believe this will be for the better.

On the other hand, some fans remain positive. “I suppose [it] depends on what the sequel is going to entail,” says MadBlue. “If the expansion is setting up the sequel, we could be getting a canon ending where V lives.”

We can speculate all we want, but the truth of the matter is, we have to wait and see when the DLC is finally released.

We will just have to wait and see what CDPR has cooked for us. CDPR already promised that the expansion will be huge, so its impact may be felt in the base game too.
