Esports World Cup 2025 Sets $70M Prize Pool in Push for Long-Term Growth
The Esports World Cup 2025 will offer a $70 million prize pool, making it one of the largest in esports history. The multi-title tournament, happening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will feature 25 competitions from July to August, along with the Club Championship, which rewards organisations for strong performances across multiple games.
Of the total prize pool, $27 million will go toward the Club Championship, with $7 million awarded to the top team. The rest will be split across individual events, MVP prizes, and qualifiers. The increase marks a $10 million jump from the inaugural 2024 edition, won by Team Falcons.
Organisers say the move supports long-term sustainability in esports, but community concerns remain due to the tournament’s ties with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Critics continue to raise human rights issues, especially as the country expands further into global sports and entertainment.
