Zeal Esports shocked their fans as they released and benched long-time players Craig “Craigys” and Salgado James “2ge” Goopio respectively from their roster.
Zeal Esports revealed this surprising decision in two separate posts on their social media accounts.

“Craig ‘Craigys’ Salgado will be officially released from the Zeal Esports roster.,” Zeal posted on their Facebook page. “We are utmost grateful to Craigys for being part of our growing family since the first day! To all the crazy gameplay and clutches, to all the memorable and joyous food trips with his teammates of course, your greatness and prowess will be remembered. We are proud to have Craigys in Zeal Esports roster!”

Meanwhile, 2ge’s benching was a mutual decision by the Controller-Initiator player and the organization.
“James ‘2geMonsta’ Goopio will be benched from the active Zeal Esports roster,” Zeal posted.”This was an important mutual decision made between the organization and [2ge]’ himself.”
These decisions were part of the shakeups that Zeal has done just after the VCT PH Stage 1 qualifiers. Previously, long-time coach and manager of Zeal Esports Yuki “Zyki” Uruma has stepped down from the head coach position and will instead focus on his role as the team’s manager while keen on taking a higher position within the Zeal Esports management.
As such, Zeal Esports is currently looking for player and coach replacements. However, there are rumors about Zeals procuring foreign replacements but they remain to be unconfirmed as of this article’s writing.
