The 7th day of VALORANT Champions 2021 went well for the Southeast Asian VALORANT scene. Team Secret decimated Vikings on their do-or-die decider match for Group C while X10 Crit also managed to defeat Envy in their own decider match for Group A.
Considered as underdogs, Team Secret managed to show the world that they got what it takes to face the best of the best as they managed to sweep Vikings 2-0 in their series.
Team Secret absolutely put on a show at Haven as they demolished Vikings 13-6. Everyone on Team Secret was on point, especially Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan (with his combo executes with Riley “witz” Go’s Breach), Kevin “Dispenser” Te, and Jessie “JessieVash” Cristy Cuyco.
With strong momentum on their side, they closed out the series on Icebox with a score of 13-7. Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza’s heroics on crucial rounds were essential to their second game whilst the rest of the team covered for each other.
Meanwhile, X10 Crit managed to eliminate Envy from VALORANT Champions as they defeated them 2-1 in a nail-biting series.
X10 Crit’s first match on Icebox wasn’t that good as they lost 13-10 to the North American representatives due to their numerous mistakes all throughout the game.
However, the Thai representatives used the art of the comeback for the remaining games of the best-of-three series on Split and Haven as they went 13-8 and 14-12 respectively.
With both wins, Team Secret and X10 Crit will proceed to the quarterfinals of VALORANT Champions 2021. Team Secret is set to face Acend on December 9 while X10 Crit is set to face Gambit on December 10.
