Agent 21 is now officially revealed for the world to see. Harbor hails from the subcontinent of India, and he has the ability to wield and manipulate water with grace and precision. He is confirmed to be a Controller and is now the fifth name in the role. Riot has officially revealed his abilities, so let’s dive deeper into the newest addition to the Valorant lineup. 

High Tide (E)

EQUIP a wall of water. FIRE to send the water forward along the ground. HOLD FIRE to guide the water in the direction of your crosshair, passing through the world, spawning a wall along the water’s path. ALT FIRE while bending to stop the water early. Players hit are slowed. (via

Harbor’s signature ability, High Tide, is yet another wall-type ability that shares similarities with abilities from other agents. However, Harbor can manipulate High Tide at will, and it passes through walls. Enemies who will get hit by the wall are slowed. This is an interesting ability for a controller, and it is exciting to see how gamers will incorporate this mechanic into their plays. 

Cove (Q)

EQUIP a sphere of shielding water. FIRE to throw. ALT FIRE to underhand throw. Upon impacting the ground, spawn a sphere of water that blocks bullets. (via

Bearing similarities to Astra’s ultimate, Cove blocks bullets to protect Harbor’s allies. However, it is different from other controllers’ smoke mechanics because it has to be thrown to activate. This ability can be used to save allies, get behind cover when you are in an open area, or, most importantly, defuse or plant the spike. Expect to get irritated by this ability when you see Harbor as an enemy once he is playable. 

Cascade (C)

EQUIP a wave of water. FIRE to send the wave rolling forward and through walls. RE-USE to stop the wave from moving further. Players hit are SLOWED. (via

Cascade is another wall-type ability. It shares similar effects to High Tide as it slows enemies hit by the wall and passes through walls. However, Cascade sends a wave of water forward, and re-firing the ability will keep the wave from moving further. Harbor can use Cascade in various situations, but it is extremely helpful for pushes. 

Reckoning (X)

EQUIP the full power of your Artifact. FIRE to summon a geyser pool on the ground. Successive geyser strikes target enemy players in the area. Players caught within a strike are CONCUSSED. (via

Harbor’s ultimate ability, Reckoning, is a powerful ultimate indeed. It summons a geyser pool on the ground, and geysers shoot out of the area successively, concussing enemies within the area. Reckoning has the ability to shift the round in Harbor’s favor if used properly. It can be used to clear out dangerous positions and to displace enemies. Reckoning can be used for attack and defense, an ability that enemies will be wary of because of the concussions. 

In hindsight, Harbor’s kit is well-rounded, and the players in Valorant will welcome its versatility. Harbor’s abilities can get easy kills for your team if appropriately used. Harbor will be a head-scratcher early on as players wrap their heads around how to deal with him properly. 

Harbor will live in the server alongside Episode 5 Act 3 on October 18.
