Tundra Esports versus OG, the battle of Western Europe, kicked off the second day of the Main Stage in the Upper Bracket. The top dogs of Western Europe battled it out to advance further in the bracket and to establish who was the top team in their region. The battle of the two heavyweight teams was short-lived as it ended on a sweep. Tundra Esports dominated OG completely as they finished the series with a 2-0 victory, and no match went over 40 minutes. Tundra Esports advanced to the second round of the Upper Bracket.

Western Europe versus China, the match between Team Liquid and Team Aster, was the second match of the day. The two teams looked evenly matched as every game in the series went the distance deep into the late game. However, Team Aster proved too much to handle as they were able to make all the right decisions in the series. Team Aster sent Team Liquid down to the Lower Bracket with a 2-0 sweep.

Lower Bracket

The first match of the Lower Bracket is between North and South America, Evil Geniuses versus Beastcoast. Arteezy went with the bald buff, following the footsteps of Team Spirit’s Yatoro in their championship run at TI10. However, the bald buff was not enough, as Beastcoast had Evil Geniuses’ number in the series. Beastcoast keeps their dreams alive, finishing off Evil Geniuses with a sweep and sending the North American representative home.

Perennial favorite PSG.LGD faced off against the last South East Asia representative, BOOM Esports, in the last match of Day 2. BOOM Esports is carrying the weight of the hopes of an entire region, and everyone is on a high after their upset victory over Team Spirit in the first round. However, PSG.LGD did not want to give a chance to the underdogs, and they proved why they are considered one of the favorites to win it all. PSG.LGD crushed the hopes of South East Asia as they swept through BOOM Esports with ease ending the series with a 2-0 victory.

Day 2 of the Main Stage showed a dominating performance by every winning team. Every game ended on a 2-0 sweep.
