Riot Games with Tiffany & Co. to Redesign Summoner’s Cup

Riot Games teams up with luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co., and they both announce their multi-year global partnership with League of Legends Esports (LoL Esports). Tiffany & Co. is now the official trophy designer of the League of Legends World Championship Trophy.

Worlds is the pinnacle of LoL Esports competition, wherein the top teams from 11 regions compete for world champion title. Twenty-four teams from Riot’s 11 professional leagues participate in a month-long tournament to fight for the crown.

According to Naz Aletaha, Global Head of League of Legends Esports for Riot Games, the Summoner’s Cup is a symbol of greatness in esports. It is the crowning achievement in League of Legends, and any team who hoists it represents the best of our sport — their mastery of the game forever be a part of LoL Esports’ history.

As LoL Esports looked to build the prestigiousness of the award, they looked to Tiffany & Co. as the only partner for collaboration. Tiffany & Co. is a storied brand and a legendary designer of the world’s most outstanding sports trophies.

The new Summoner’s Cup will weigh 44 pounds or around 20 kilograms and stands approximately 27 inches which took an extensive creative process between LoL Esports and Tiffany & Co. The process took about four months or 277 hours to bring the design to life.

The League of Legends World Championship will return to North America for the first time since 2016 and will restart its multi-city tour format after its two-year hiatus. The Play-In stage will begin at September 29 to October 4 in Mexico City.

The Group Stage will follow on October 7-10 and 13-16 in New York City. Quarterfinals will also be set in the same city, and will follow on October 20-23. Semifinals will be on October 29-30 in Atlanta, GA. Finally, the Worlds 2022 Finals match will be on November 5 in San Francisco, California.
