Paper Rex takes a shot at EMEA representatives Acend after both teams lost against Korean representatives Vision Strikers at the Berlin Masters.
Responding to Acend’s tweet about the possibility of 2 EMEA teams making it out of Group A, the Twitter account of the Singaporean representatives quote tweeted: “This tweet didn’t age well.”
Paper Rex’s banter immediately came after Acend lost to Vision Strikers via a 2-0 sweep in Haven and Icebox. Ironically enough, Paper Rex also lost to Vision Strikers in the first round of the Berlin Masters in a similar fashion — going 0-2 against the Korean VALORANT powerhouse (albeit a relatively better performance than Acend as noted by the casters).
Interactions like this between the Berlin Masters competitors are quite common. For example, Paper Rex captured the hearts of the international VALORANT scene with Benedict “Benkai” Tan’s humor during the initial press conference of the tournament.
