Paper Rex (PRX) win a 2-0 series against G2 Esports in an elimination match for VCT Masters Reykjavík. Paper Rex secured a spot in the top 4 after they knocked out the last remaining team from the EMEA region.
G2 Esports came in strong in the first half with a 3-9 scoreline in their favor. The EMEA team looked like they were about to secure the first map of the series.
However, Paper Rex bounced back with a stellar performance from PRX f0rsakeN on Jett. He steamrolled the players from G2 with an amazing 25 kills and only 15 deaths. This led to PRX f0rsakeN having a 1.66 KD.
In Map 2, Paper Rex dominated by winning 8 rounds in the first half. G2 Esports had only won 4 rounds in their map pick. G2 was able to secure the first two rounds of the second half with a solid pistol round. But, G2 was quickly stopped by Paper Rex’s momentum.
G2 Esports only won one more round before Paper Rex finished strong to secure the map with a 13-7 scoreline. Paper Rex dominated the series with impressive tenacity, ultimately removing the last remaining team from the EMEA region.
Paper Rex moves on to the lower bracket semi-finals, and they will face ZETA DIVISION on April 22, 2022. Whoever wins will face the loser of OpTic Gaming versus LOUD in the lower bracket finals.
