ONIC G Eliminates Team Secret and BLEED From VCT 2022 APAC LCQ

ONIC G eliminated two juggernaut teams in Team Secret and BLEED eSports at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022 Asia-Pacific: Last Chance Qualifier (VCT APAC LCQ).

ONIC Points Out The Exit For Team Secret

ONIC’s day couldn’t have started any better than when they eliminated Team Secret 2-1 from APAC LCQ.

The first game of their series against the Filipino hopefuls resulted in a 13-11 win at Fracture. They were in control for most of the game, which was evident with the game’s first half as they took home eight rounds for themselves. ONIC staggered for a bit during the game’s second half — wherein they allowed Team Secret to get a 5-round win streak and get a total of 7 rounds — but were able to recompose and end the game by the 24th round.

ONIC seemed to like adversity as they then lost the next game at Haven 11-13. Both teams kept it close throughout the entire game which eventually led to a tied first half. ONIC basically won their rounds when they caught Team Secret off-guard numerous times with their lurking. The game also featured a “battle of the Omens” as both Michael “severiNe” Winata and Team Secret’s Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza went at it by securing impactful frags for their respective teams.

With both teams one apiece, ONIC closed their series out with yet another 13-11 win on Breeze. The game also featured yet another agent showdown with Sova as Hildegard “Shiro” Arnaldo and Team Secret’s Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco showed how integral the agent was on the map.

ONIC Kisses BLEED Goodbye

With Team Secret out of the way, ONIC then faced BLEED at the lower bracket finals.

Their first match didn’t go well as they lost 10-13 against BLEED. The game was instantaneously dominated by BLEED when ONIC initially lost the first seven rounds before they took the remaining five rounds in the first half. At the second half, they weren’t able to overtake BLEED and lost the game at Round 23.

The second game at Icebox went to ONIC as they defeated BLEED 13-10 this time. The match was back-and-forth during the first half but ONIC’s excellent attacking in the second half gave the Indonesian team their much-needed win. The game also featured a Chamber showdown as SeveriNe and BLEED’s Derrick “Deryeon” Yee dueled for which Chamber reigned supreme.

The third and final game of the series in Haven went to overtime and ended 14-12 in favor of ONIC. At first, ONIC seemed destined to have a repeat of the first game as they merely took five rounds in the first half. However, ONIC steadily crept their way to equalize the series and forced it to go overtime where they salvaged their run and win the series.

With today’s wins, ONIC will be proceeding to meet BOOM Esports for an all-Indonesian grand final at the VCT 2022 APAC LCQ for the last APAC spot for Champions 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey.

I love Pokémon GO as much as I love FPS, MMO, and MOBA games. I also write stuff.
