Zeal Esport announced the removal of Dominique “N1CO” Tul-id and Vince “Flash” Medado from their main roster as they prepare for the next VCT season next year.
N1CO and Flash, who were both mainstays of the team, even during the days they used to represent 6045 Pirates, are now restricted free agents as they are now benched indefinitely.
N1CO was the first one to announce his departure from the team, even before Zeal Esports’ official announcement. In a now-deleted Facebook post, he stated that it has been a great run.
“It’s been a great run! Thank you [6045 Pirates and Zeal Esports] for making my dream and our dreams come true. I’ve learned so many things. Thank you and good luck mates! – N1CO out,” the former IGL of Zeal Esports stated in his personal Facebook account.
Meanwhile, as stated in Flash’s Twitter account, he is now looking for a new team.
“As of today I’m allowed to look into offers as a restricted free agent. So thankful for everything Zeals Esports has done for me and allowing me to represent them! I love all my teammates and wish them the best. Looking to play Sentinel. rts are much appreciated!! dm for info,” the former sentinel main of Zeals tweeted.
Addressing the rumors about Flash not wanting to play due to N1CO’s initial departure, Zeal Esports coach Yuki “Zyki” Uruma stated that it wasn’t accurate as the team is simply restructuring for next season.
“The rumors arent true. Both of them were benched due to recent results. The team had to make changes for the upcoming VCT season [this] 2022,” Zyki stated.
Zyki also stated that former sixth-man Craig “craigys” Salgado will be taking over the IGL role of the team now that N1CO is out.
Zeal Esports will be conducting a tryout to fill in the missing fifth spot. Interested applicants may check out their official post here.
