Former Oasis Gaming’s head coach Chelceed “Maark” Viernes announced via his social media accounts that he will not be returning as a coach for VALORANT Champions Tour 2022.
“I regret to announce that I will not continue coaching for the duration of the VALORANT Champions Tour in 2022,” Maark announced.
Despite setting a personal goal to make it to Champions, Maark revealed that he was tending to personal health issues ever since this offseason which prevented him to commit anything related to competitive VALORANT.
He also mentioned that he wants to compete again not as a coach but as a player, although he wants to start with a clean slate and grind his way up from the amateur scene.
Chelceed “Maark” Viernes was the former head coach for Oasis Gaming up until his departure last November 2021. He was responsible for coaching Oasis Gaming’s roster that won the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Philippines Stage 3 Challengers 3. His former assistant, Flufee02, is now the current coach for the org.
