Filipino VALORANT coach Chelceed “Maark” Viernes left DEFY Gaming after a brief coaching stint with them for the VCT-PH Stage 2 Qualifiers.
In a TwitLonger he posted, Maark revealed that his time with DEFY finally came to an end as he opted to decline an extension with the team.
“Today, my contract with DEFY Gaming has ended. Although the team and the org expressed their interest in re-signing me and having me on board in a more long-term status, I’ve decided to decline their kind offer,” Maark revealed.
He then thanked the players and gave personalized messages to each one of them.
Meanwhile, besides playing the popular MMORPG Lost Ark, he plans to help the grassroots scene by opening the doors for everyone to message him for anyone who seeks help.
He’s also open to teams who wish to have him for “short-term” projects but emphasizes that his focus will be on his Lost Ark endeavors in the meantime.
With his guidance, DEFY’s VALORANT roster was able to reach the top 10 in the recent VCT-PH Qualifiers and was ranked as high as 70th in VLR.gg’s Asia-Pacific team rankings.
