BOOM Esports Win over Cerberus Esports in Group A Opener at VCT APAC Stage 2 Play-Ins

BOOM Esports takes the victory against Cerberus Esports with a 2 – 1 score in the Opening games in Group A of Play-ins at the 2022 VCT Stage 2 Challengers APAC. 

GAME 1: CERBERUS ESPORTS  STRIKES FIRST IN ASCENT 

Cerberus took the first game, winning the first of the series.

Cerberus made a good showing on the defenders’ side in the early rounds of the game, acquiring a 7 – 0  lead against the opposing team. The lead was maintained until BOOM’s Gary “blazeKing” Dastin and Muhammad Rafi “frostmind” Diandra gave BOOM their first round in a post plant 2v2.

However, the game remained in Cerberus’s favor with BOOM only managing to take a decent number of rounds but not enough to close the gap.

Cerberus closed the game with a 13 –  8 scoreline against BOOM.

GAME 2: BOOM ESPORTS FIGHTS BACK IN BREEZE

BOOM took Cerberus to Game 3 with a remarkable showing in the 2nd game of the series.

BOOM managed to overcome Cerberus’ small lead in the early rounds and exploded in the subsequent rounds ending the first half at 8 – 4. Excellent retakes were the name of the game by BOOM which gave Cerberus no reprieve.

BOOM showed no mercy versus Cerberus only giving the first 4 rounds and one round, ending the 2nd game at 13 – 5.

GAME 3: BOOM ESPORTS TAKES THE SERIES IN ICEBOX 

Game 3 had a scrappier exhibition between the two teams, with each team trying their hardest not to back down. The first half had Boom in the lead however in the 2nd half, Cerberus managed to consecutively take rounds from Boom and was able to narrow the gap. Ultimately, Boom concluded the game with a 13 – 9 score and emerged victorious in the series.

One of the more comical moments of the game was BOOM blazeKing getting a knife kill on Ngô Trường “Kishi”  Huy with a little help of a Killjoy Lockdown by Saibani “fl1pzjder” Rahmad.

As the victors, BOOM Esports will live to see another day in the Play-ins stage where they are expected to face the winner between Made in Thailand (MiTH) vs. Enigma Gaming (EG) while Cerberus Esports is to fight for their spot in the upcoming elimination against the loser of the aforementioned match.
